Sessions
I offer a free thirty-minute consultation for us to discuss your aims, hopes, and concerns for therapy. This is an opportunity for us to discuss what's led you to seek therapy at this time in your life, and to ask any questions you may have about how I work as a therapist and what you can expect from our time together.
My hope is that this time will help you to get a sense of how we can work together. Should we agree to proceed, we would then arrange a time and day to meet each week.
In our first session, we would discuss the contract underpinning our work together, including important details such as frequency and duration of sessions, payment, risk assessment, and the limits of confidentiality.

Length of Work
The amount of time we work together will ultimately be decided by yourself. Everyone I work with is different, and their needs are different. As the work progresses, you may feel that you are comfortable stepping away from therapy, be it temporarily or indefinitely, or you may feel that you are uncovering more, and so more time is needed. Whether our time together is long-term or short-term, I will be responsive to your needs as they change and develop.
Frequency
Sessions are typically conducted on a weekly or fortnightly basis, on a set day and time each week. I am happy to accommodate your needs as they change, such as if your personal routine requires us to be more flexible in when we meet.
Complaints
If you have a complaint regarding my work or are unhappy with your treatment, I welcome you to discuss any and all concerns you may have. I will work with you to address your complaints so that we can repair any rupture that has occurred, or that we can bring a safe end to our work as necessary or required by you (in this situation I would offer support and signposting to other professionals and services should you wish to continue counselling elsewhere).
If you feel uncomfortable addressing your concerns with myself, you can direct them to the BACP Professional Conduct team, with my support. They can be contacted via the email address below:

The BACP’S Get Help With Counselling Concerns service can also help to confidentially address any concerns you may have in counselling, either in relation to myself or other practitioners. You can reach them using the contact details below:
